Egg Cozy Tutorial

Hi, Everybody! I hope you are all having a great week, and getting to do some fun crafts or baking in preparation for this Easter weekend! If you are looking for more cute ideas for your Easter table, I have a great one for you! Why not make these cute Egg Cozies for your Easter breakfast table?? They are really easy to make, and the fun part is that you can customize them by decorating them in whatever way you like! They would also make really nice place cards if you sewed your guests' names on each egg cozy, and then let them take theirs home with them! And if you are having Easter dinner at someone's home, wouldn't a customized set of these be a cute hostess gift? Here's a tutorial for these cute Egg Cozies, so you can make your own! Happy Crafting, Everyone!

EGG COZY TUTORIAL

YOU WILL NEED: One sheet of felt, some colorful fabric, ribbon, thread. (This is what I used to make two of these egg cozies. You could, of course, use different materials, add sequins, beads or buttons, or any other decorations, or sew people's names onto them. They don't have to be Easter themed either, so you can use them all year round for special breakfasts!)

DIRECTIONS:

1. First, cut out your egg cozy shapes, for one egg cozy you will need two identical pieces (front and back). Here is what each of my shapes looked like, each was 3.5 in (9cm) wide and 3.5 in (9cm) tall. You may need to change the size depending on how big your egg cups are. I cut out two of these shapes out of felt.
2. Next, I decorated each side. I sewed pretty fabric hearts onto each side, and added some ribbon to line the bottom of each egg cozy. You can decorate the egg cozies with whatever decorations you want!

3. Now place your decorated sides facing each other, and insert a small piece of ribbon in between them at the top (the ends of the ribbon need to be facing up, so that when you turn the egg cozy inside out at the end, you have a nice ribbon loop at the top). Then, using a sewing machine (you could do this by hand, but this is so much faster) sew the edges together (not the bottom part, obviously), then turn the cozy out and you're done!

Happy Crafting, Everyone!

  8. So nice to meet you. I love your blog and the egg cozy is just such a cute idea. Love it. I have a party each week called Table Top Tuesday. It's where any surface that you can decorate qualifies. Tables, shelves, mantels or any place you can create a vignette is perfect. I hope you will join us some time. I am following you back.
